Chef Marcie Turney and her team are deep in development mode for upcoming Bud & Marilyn's, which is behind schedule but now nearing completion at 13th and Locust. The concept, named for Turney's grandparents, pays tribute to the restaurant they owned for over 50 years in Ripon, Wisconsin. And Turney's begun teasing lots of her menu testing to Instagram to give an idea of what might be on the menu when it opens, including the intriguing pretzel brioche shown above and some updates on classic Americana, like a wedge salad with Thai basil green goddess dressing...
...and this elevated take on beef Stroganoff, with freshly made egg noodles, short rib, trumpet mushrooms, garlic scapes, and horseradish creme fraiche:
Southern influences sneak in on the most recently posted item, which doesn't show a final result but happily plays with Edwards' Wigwam Virginia country ham, biscuits, pimento cheese, and pickles:

Bud & Marilyn's, which replaces the former Rhino Bar, has been undergoing an extensive redesign led by Kate Rohrer of Rohe Creative. There's still no firm word on an opening date, but stay tuned for updates within the next few weeks as the project approaches the finish line.
