It's opening day for the latest La Colombe cafe, located in the Dow building, just steps from Independence Beer Garden and across from the Liberty Bell. It's the fourth Philadelphia location for the chain, which has locations in New York, D.C., and Chicago, and plans for many more.

Here's a bit more on the architecture of the building, via Curbed Philly. The new La Colombe occupies 1,700 square feet of corner space in the distinctive '60s structure. The build-out was handled by prolific Stokes Architecture, who also worked on La Colombe's massive Fishtown flagship.

Cafe hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

La Colombe Independence Mall, 100 S. Independence Mall West (Sixth and Market streets), now open.
