Looks like the opening of Bud & Marilyn's, the long-awaited new project from Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran (Barbuzzo, Little Nonna's, et al.), is just about here. Several of the most recent updates via Turney on Instagram have noted that they were aiming for the last week of August, and you can now officially start snagging reservations on OpenTable, with availability beginning on Thursday, August 27.

Watch this space for updates (you never know when an unannounced preview or soft opening might spring up), but this means you can start working Bud & Marilyn's into your near-future plans rightthisveryminute. Brunch and lunch hours are expected to join dinner service shortly after opening.

For those just tuning in, Bud & Marilyn's is an updated homage to American classics, named for Turney's grandparents and loosely inspired by the restaurant they owned and operated in Ripon, Wisconsin. Expect modern takes on wedge salads, beef stroganoff, fried chicken, and meat-and-three specials on Sundays.

Bud & Marilyn's, 1234 Locust St., (215) 546-2220, opening August 2015.
