In and of itself, the whole butchery/restaurant concept at Kensington Quarters is pretty damn smart. But then owners Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello took it a step further, and made it more accessible with a COOK collaboration: an order/delivery system bringing those specialty cuts of local, organic meat to Rittenhouse.
Meanwhile, the restaurant will add a special 16-seat-only chef's table dinner series to its roster (which already includes Sunday Steak Night and Tuesday Fried Chicken night, mind you).
Chef Damon Menapace will host the dinner series once a month through the end of the year (excluding December), the first one being on Tuesday, September 29.
All dinners start at 7 p.m. and tickets (sold here) are $85 a pop — a pretty stellar deal considering drink pairings, tax, and gratuity are included.
And he's shared the six-course menu with us: cured pork loin with fermented pepper, grilled wahoo with spicy broccoli, corn chowder, celery root ravioli, goat loin with lentil salad, figs and apple walnut tart.
If you're the type to save dates, the next dinner will be a butchery class and dinner on October 20. Head butcher Heather Thomason will teach guests how to break down some beef, and then afterwards, chef Menapace will cook that beef up into five courses. Check the sign-up portion of the Kensington Quarters website for Chef's Table dates, menus, and the like.
