Kanella's Having a Party Tomorrow for Its New Bar

It opens for full service next Tuesday.

It's finally happening.

We're finally getting back the Cypriot kitchen that holds such a dear place in our Philadelphian hearts. Kanella will be opening its doors tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, for a grand opening celebration at its new bar.

And chef/owner Konstantinos Pitsillides seems to be aware of the magnitude of his reopening, because he's hiring a DJ for the night (DJ Christian Martinez). There will be bar snacks and drinks, specifically a $7 gin cocktail made with roses and dill. The party starts at 5 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m.

Pro-tip: if you're one of the first 50 guests, your first drink is on the house.

The following week, Kanella will open its doors for good on Tuesday, September 22, letting Philadelphia have what it's been craving for the last few months: our beloved Cypriot cuisine, this time around cooked over open flame and charcoal, alongside cocktails and largely unheard-of wines.
