Bill Murray paid a visit to Philadelphia this weekend, and naturally, Philadelphia freaked out.
And rightfully so, it was Bill Murray, legendary for every reason, but especially on the internet for his reputation of randomly appearing in social gatherings unannounced.
Over the years, the internet turned him into somewhat of an urban myth: the actor who messes with the masses. Murray-encounter stories, some real; most fake, have made their rounds around the web describing strange, surprise visits, random appearances, and his classic (and coy) exit message: "Nobody will ever believe you."
Well, we've got proof, Philly. Thanks to Hugh E Dillon over at Philly Chit Chat, the entire Murray-weekend was documented, down to the nitty-gritty details.
Long story short: he was here attending the wedding of his son, Luke Murray, and decided to bop around the city, and he sort of did it right. He stopped into Oscar's Tavern (a man of the people!), The Bellevue (a man with class!), and Il Pittore for dinner (a man with a fine palate!).
