MIDTOWN VILLAGE — The third edition of Time's monthly Ladies' Night tonight matches bites—beef heart, chicken liver mousse, and house-smoked ham with mostarda—from butcher Heather Thomason of Kensington Quarters and beers from Katie Tella of Jack's Abby Craft Lagers and Sophia Tran of Shangy's with SØle Artisan Ales. A flight of four bites will run you $25, with four beers to accompany for $18. The event will run from 7:00 until 9:00. No reservations necessary.
EAST PASSYUNK — Brigantessa and representatives from Delaware's ShawneeCraft Brewing Company are teaming up this Thursday, January 21st, for a beer dinner. It's a single seating that begins at 6:30, and the menu includes five courses, each paired with one of ShawneeCraft's brews. Think fret misto with Apiarius, a dry honey pale ale; or braised pork shank with polenta and tomato agrodolce matched with Altbier, and old-style Dusseldorf ale. Tickets are $65, plus tax and gratuity, and must be reserved ahead of time.
OLD CITY - The Victoria Freehouse has a jam-packed weekend planned: Thursday and Friday this week brings the wizarding world to Old City with Harry Potter Trivia, complete with Butter Beer, for two sessions each night, one at 7:30 and one at 9:30. Following trivia on Friday there will also be a Harry Potter themed burlesque performance by Olde City Cabaret Company. Saturday, the 23rd is Robert Burns night, a celebration of Scotland's great poet with a special menu that, naturally, includes haggis. The menu is $40 and a scotch flight of Macallan 10, Laphroaig 10, and Talisker 10 is $20.
