Kensington Quarters Puts Its Bones To Good Use; Le Virtù To Host La Cattora

FISHTOWN — It's about time that Kensington Quarters, a place that might own pig bones in excess, starts making soup out of them. The restaurant/boutique-butcher is hosting a ramen pop-up on the second floor tomorrow night, January 27. John Boswell is cooking up pork ramen ($14), vegetable ramen ($12), steamed buns ($6), and serving KQ's house made charcuterie. Wash it all down with a sour beer, a natural wine, or a Basque cider and you'll be fortified for more wintry weather. Wednesday, January 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. No reservations.

EAST PASSYUNK — A benefit for Project H.O.M.E, Le Virtù is hosting a traditional outdoor Abruzzese festival, La Cottora, in their garden tomorrow night, January 27, along with Di Bruno Brothers' Emilio Mignucci, Stargazy chef Sam Jacobson, and Michael Strauss of Taproom on 19th. The three hour long all-you-can-eat-and-drink event will begin at 6:30pm, when Chef Joe Cicala will be cooking a dish called sagne e fasciul, an Abruzzese version of pasta e fagioli, outdoors in a cauldron over a wood fire. In addition to porchetta, sausage rolls, vegetarian pies, beef brisket panini, and sweets from pastry chef Angela Ranalli-Cicala, there will be plenty of mulled wine and spiced cider to help keep guests warm. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by phone: 215-271-5626
