Right under our noses, Justin Petruce, formerly of Petruce et al., left his namesake restaurant to work in Florida at Kevin Sbraga's new Jacksonville restaurant, Sbraga & Company. During today's WJXT Channel 4 Morning Show, Justin performed a how-to-cook-kale demonstration, Sbraga-style, (Sbraga & Co.'s gets tossed in a hot vinegar dressing), for its viewers.
The Petruce brothers (Justin and Jonathan) opened Petruce et al. to much acclaim, earning three bells and stars from The Inquirer and Philadelphia magazine, and have since added a wood-fired pizza program to their menus. In December 2015, wine director/general manager Tim Kweeder suddenly left the restaurant, landing in Kensington Quarters. Soon after, a property listing for Petruce's 1121 Walnut Street space crept onto MSC Retail's website.
Today, the restaurant remains open, its name still accurate, with Justin's brother Jonathan Petruce running the kitchen.
