Executive chef Michael Millon spent the better portion of last night serving house-made cotechino and uni-draped squid ink spaghetti "alla chitarra" to hungry guests in Fairmount at Tod Wentz's brand new Italian BYOB, A Mano. The itty-bitty restaurant at 2244 Fairmount Avenue, now completely transformed from its once grocery store beginnings, is finally open. Its 48-seat dining room, flooded with natural light from windows that open to the street (once the warm weather returns), is simple: bistro chairs, green banquettes, bold, hanging mirrors and bare custom wood tables, for that high-end casual aesthetic.
Take a look around. Remember, A Mano is walk-in only (no reservations). But don't worry, London Grill and Paris Wine Bar are just across the avenue for shelter and, of course, pre-dinner drinks.
