Today at 5 p.m., Michael Schulson's Center City newcomer Harp & Crown will open at 1525 Sansom Street. The concept: a bright and beautiful American restaurant and bar on the ground floor, and down below, an exclusive cocktail bar, lounge, and two-lane bowling alley. If you haven’t yet, take Eater’s virtual tour here — Rohe Creative brought vintage grandeur to 2016, and the result is breathtaking.
Food & Wine’s Best New Chef of 2012 Karen Nicholas is heading Harp & Crown’s kitchen. The idea is New American, so the menu spans the globe with menu items like seared scallops sauced with North African green chermoula, Mediterranean-style big-eye tuna crudo dressed in tahini and olives, and Southern-inspired pork chops over a hominy succotash.
Schulson’s beverage manager Zack Davis put together a high-society cocktail list to match an all-craft tap list, every beer available by the glass or pitcher — a great idea for a space so friendly for larger groups. Peep the menus below, and order from them today starting at 5 p.m.
