Fishtown's pizza scene, one already so healthy and vibrant with Pizzeria Beddia, Pizza Brain, Wm. Mulherin's Sons, and Medusa Pizzeria, gets its newest addition this Friday, October 28, when Marlo and Jason Dilks open their fourth Trenton-style pizzeria, SLiCE, inside the former Art of Pizza spot at 431 East Girard Avenue. For three hours in the afternoon (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) and three more in the evening (4 p.m. - 7 p.m.), the shop will celebrate its grand opening with free pizza—one slice per person, no purchase required, your choice between margherita, florentine, truffled ribeye, and the Fishtown-specific options like The Fig, Brussels Sprout, and Lemon-Fennel.
The new location will be the Dilks's first all-organic, organic, natural and hormone free shop with vegan and gluten-free options. Why? Given the neighborhood's young, new demographic, healthier options are now a priority. "After P'unk Burger successfully launched, the time was finally right for a more natural direction for SliCE. Look for all other SliCE locations to go organic by next year," said Marlo.
Fishtown will be BYOB, like the others, with its own line of pies (menu below). Delivery and take-out are available, or eat-in in the 20-seat dining room.
Store hours will go from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., daily.
