Here’s How You Make Poutine for Philadelphians

Rittenhouse Square's Shoo Fry will have cheesesteak, scrapple, and creamed chipped beef poutine on its menu

Matt Baiada, the brains behind Shoo Fry, a mall-pop-up-turned-brick-and-mortar poutine shop, tells Eater he’s just about two weeks out from his first store’s official opening at 132 South 17th Street, the below-street-level space once home to Underdogs in Rittenhouse Square. Staff training has already begun, so Baiada will determine the store's opening date based on how ready his crew is to take on Rittenhouse’s lunchtime, dinnertime, and late-night crowd. The Fishtown location (in the former East Girard Gastropub) is still a few months away.

Until then, you can salivate over Shoo Fry’s Philly-style poutine/slider/milkshake menu, complete with cheesesteak, creamed chipped beef, and scrapple options. Milkshakes will be made from Little Baby’s ice cream, and just to make the experience even more Philly, Baiada’s working on a Beiler’s Shoo Fly pie shake.
