WASHINGTON SQUARE WEST — To celebrate its 15th birthday, Morimoto, Stephen Starr's all-time great in Philly's sushi scene, will host Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto for one night only on Sunday, November 13. Morimoto will lead attendees through a nine-course omakase for $150 with an optional $85 beverage pairing.  Reservations begin at 5 p.m., make yours by calling the restaurant at (215) 413-9070.

NORTHERN LIBERTIES — Jaxon, Northern Liberties's 8-month-old neighborhood BYOB by Tony Schiro has a new chef in industry-vet Matthew Gansert (previously of Will BYOB, Resurrection Ale House, and Jerry's Bar). On Monday, November 14, Gansert will welcome his old chef, Chris Kearse of Will BYOB, to his new restaurant for a one-night collaboration dinner. Tickets are $55 per person and available by reservation only by calling 215-922-2621. Menu to the right.

EAST PASSYUNK AVENUE — On Wednesday, November 16, one of San Fransisco's best restaurants, the two-Michelin-starred Coi, will join forces with one of Philly's best restaurants, four-bell Laurel. Why Philly? The Coi team is led by two chefs with roots in Philadelphia's fine dining scene of yore: executive chef Matthew Kirkley used to cook at the Striped Bass with Terence Feury, and their chef de cuisine Justin Mauz once cooked under Elmi in his Le Bec-Fin days. Dinner is eight courses for $160 with a $95 wine pairing (or BYOB). Call (215) 271-8299 to make your reservation.
