LOGAN SQUARE — This Saturday, February 27, the Free Library of Philadelphia's Culinary Literary Center is hosting a one day-only food writer's conference called Eating Words by Edible Philly Magazine. For those interested in making food writing part of their career, or those interested in food writing in general, Edible Philly's editor Joy Manning, will be on-site offering tips on "pitching" and how to get published. Other panels will cover food blogging (yes, Eater Philly will be there), recipe development, researching techniques, social media and more. Agenda and tickets are available here.

KENSINGTON — Bringing new meaning to the idea of Netflix and chill, New Liberty Distillery is going to show you a movie and mix you a cocktail at their second ever movie night at their Kensington distillery. They'll be screening Super Troopers on March 4 in their barrel room.  Doors are at 7 p.m. and the movie begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include one free Super Trooper themed-cocktail upon entry (and $8 each thereafter) plus free popcorn. Baby Blues BBQ food truck will be preparing food for the event including $8 sandwiches, $10 entrees, and $3 sides. Reserve your tickets here.
