Philly's Newest Izakaya Double Knot Is Open, Peep the Menus

Here's all that you'll be eating and drinking at Midtown Village's new coffee shop and izakaya.

Double Knot officially opened its doors yesterday, February 2, first at 7 a.m. in the upstairs cafe, and then again at 5 p.m., downstairs, where the dungeon-esque izakaya served up skewered goodies and sushi galore. In the mornings, enjoy morning pastries by chef Roxxanne Delle Site, and expert cups of coffee, courtesy of Evan Inatome of Elixr Coffee Roasters, poured by hand or from the Modbar — the only one of its kind in Philly. Menu here:

Downstairs menus:

Executive chef Kevin Yanaga is the man behind the menus of the downstairs izakaya, serving everything from dumplings and bao buns to robata and sushi.

Drink menus were devised by Garces alum Zack Davis, who amassed a vast, if not smart, collection of sake alongside a cocktail menu with all the glitz and glam (burning barrel staves table-side) necessary for such a glitzy and glamorous dining room:
