SOUTH PHILLY — Iconic cheesesteak handler Pat's Steaks is hosting another big shot chef for its new guest chef series. Jose Garces will be manning the griddle next Monday, March 14 from 1-3 p.m., serving up the JG Cheesesteak (provolone fondue, To-Jo wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, black truffle, with good ol' Pat's rib eye) in congruence with his upcoming chef event at the Loews Hotel, Think Local, Give Local Garces Foundation Benefit. All sandwich ($10) proceeds will go to the Garces Foundation, and a customer, picked at random, will get two tickets to the event next Friday, March 18 (tickets are $300, found here).
EAST PASSYUNK — A little further south, East Passyunk Avenue chefs, have banded together for a seven course collaboration dinner to help subsidize additional police presence on the Avenue during summer months, because as Philly's well aware, summer on the Avenue gets bumping, and higher traffic necessitates additional safety precautions. The dinner will be held on Monday, March 21, at Paradiso, hosted by Joncarl Lachman (Noord eetcafe, Restaurant Neuf) and Lynn Rinaldi (Paradiso), with a complimentary cocktail hour starting at 6 p.m. (the dinner itself is BYOB). Tickets, available here, go for $200 a head. Peep the menu below:
