Tomorrow, March 16, Tony Schiro will open the doors to his new Northern Liberties BYOB, Jaxon, at 3rd and Fairmount Streets. Schiro, once the proud owner of The Latest Dish (which had a 17 year run) and its upstairs dance club, Fluid, makes his return to the dining scene with two young chefs rocking stacked resumes. Chef Ed Conwell (Kanella, Vernick) will run the kitchen with sous chef Doug Dreisbach (Serpico, Little Fish), and while the menu looks pretty standard in terms of farm-fresh Philly BYOBs, a few items remain from Schiro's days at the Dish.

"We were kind of known for our mac and cheese at The Latest Dish, and people kept asking me if I was going to bring it back," said Schiro. He did, plus a few other familiar dishes: lemongrass mussels, and for dessert, french toast bread pudding. Check the menu below and stay tuned for pictures.
