If you haven't been yet, know this: La Peg, chef Peter Woolsey's FringeArts-affiliated contemporary American restaurant overlooking the Delaware river, has a delightful outdoor patio all done-up with market lights and gorgeous views of the Ben Franklin Bridge. New this year, and following suit with its concept-change, the patio went from a place to eat and drink "en plein air" (when it was a French brasserie) to a waterside seafood shack, inspired by Woolsey's New England upbringings.
The Shack's menu is available until 10:30 on weekdays, and 11:30 on weekends, serving up some of the chef's childhood favorites: lobster rolls, fried clams, crab poutine, burgers, and for the Philly-faithful, grilled hot sausage with onion and bell pepper gravy on a long roll.
The patio is open daily, as long as the weather allows for it.
