The PHS is hosting a grand opening party tonight at 5:30 p.m. for this year's first of two pop-up gardens, returning for the third time to its flagship site at 15th and South. This year's garden sounds like it's aiming for a soothing vibe, with roses, ferns, Queen Anne's Lace, pink crepe myrtles and hop vines creating a delicate backdrop to the food and drink.
Speaking of, f & b purveyor Khyber Pass Pub is also steering away from anything too heavy-handed, opting to stock its Botanical Bar with gin and vodka cocktails, craft beers and light bites like sweet potato summer rolls, bacon guac and charcuterie/cheese boards laden with artichoke salad and fig toast.
Weekly special events include Margarita Mondays, Brewsdays and South Street Gulps on Wednesdays, which spotlight sangria.
The second PHS pop-up, at The Viaduct Rail Park, officially opens to the public next Friday.
