When Konstantinos Pitsillides, chef-owner of Kanella, closed his Washington Square West BYOB to move the concept to bigger and better digs in Queen Village, the neighborhood was left wondering what would become of the space on 10th and Spruce Streets.

Earlier this week, Billy Penn announced the return of Pitsillides to his old location, where the original Kanella will become Kanella Grill, a "traditional Cypriot street food" concept with "a menu focusing on grilled skewers of meat, sausage, poultry, fish and marinated vegetables."

The restaurant is slotted to open as early as July.
