FISHTOWN — Need somewhere to go before the festivities begin on the Parkway? New Liberty Distillery will be hosting a $25 Pregame to the Parkway event from 12-3 p.m., which means an open bar featuring their Fishtown whiskey, cocktails, and brews by nearby brewery St. Benjamin's, plus lawn games and an Independence Day screening in the upstairs bar and tasting room. For tickets and more info, hit up New Liberty's events page.
CENTER CITY — SkyGarten, the world's highest beer garden from the folks who brought you Brauhaus Schmitz and Whetstone Tavern, is using its height to its advantage this Fourth of July. Buy a $76 ticket to SkyGarten's Celestial Salute (7:30-11 p.m.), and you'll have access to a three and a half hour open bar, a barbecue buffet cooked up by chef Jeremy Nolen, live music, and of course, panoramic vistas of the Philly landscape, fireworks and all. Buy your tickets here.
BEN FRANKLIN PARKWAY — While getting onto the The Logan Hotel's rooftop bar might be difficult to do on the Fourth (they're reserving spots for those who opt into their Liberty & Libations package, or the $200-a-head private Assembly party), there's still some fun to be had at the Parkway newcomer. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Urban Farmer will turn the outdoor patio into an outdoor beer garden with traditional cook-out eats. And later in the evening, at 8 p.m., Urban Farmer's offering a $65, three-course prix fixe menu with guaranteed seats on the patio outside. Book your spot here.
