Today, Stephen Starr confirmed he'll be taking over the space at 130 S. 18th Street, currently Serafina. The concept isn't fleshed out just yet.
Serafina has been a bit of a blemish on Rittenhouse's dining scene since it first opened in 2011; mediocre food and strange service — not to mention abysmal reviews — led the high-trafficked space on 18th Street to languish over the past few years.
Eater operatives called the restaurant and a manager on duty said that, "to his knowledge", the new ownership is taking over in "two to three months". Allan Domb Real Estate owns the property and has a minority interest in Starr's restaurants.
Stay tuned.
