Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, owners of two of the best vegetable restaurants in the entire nation Vedge and V Street, are diversifying their talents and expanding their brand into the fast-casual world. Right next door to the current Rittenhouse vegan street food darling V Street (currently EYEsite), Landau and Jacoby will open a quick-serve meat-free restaurant at 124 South 19th Street. The name is still in the works.
Landau promises a simple affair in the new space: counter service, "two to three types of sandwiches, salads, and fries", a few tables for eat-in purposes, plus a tight craft can list and draft wine. In the back, the space will receive a brand new kitchen outfitted for V Street as well as the incoming restaurant. Nothing will change about V Street, save for maybe a few additions to the menu.
"We'd love to be open by Thanksgiving," said Landau.
Stay tuned.
