Fishtown's Pickled Heron Becomes Private Event Space

The five-year-old BYOB switches things up

In today's Pickled Heron email newsletter — its subject titled "What a long strange trip it's been...." — owners Todd Braley and Daniela D'Ambrosio announced that the restaurant will be only taking private events from this point moving forward.

After much discussion and many life changes, we have decided that moving forward we will only be taking private events at the restaurant. Thank you so much to our friends, family and community for the love and support you have given us over the years! We would not have been able to live out this dream without you!

Braley and D'Ambrosio met as line cooks at the Ritz-Carlton, and in 2008, decided to open up a BYOB French bistro on Frankford Avenue in Fishtown (which, back then, wasn't so much the foodie-haven it is today). They built the restaurant from the ground up, brought on a monthly rotation of local artists to dress the walls, and opened their doors in 2011. After five years of seasonal, locally driven French menus, charcuterie CSAs, plus a flattering two-bell review from Craig LaBan, for reasons none other than "personal life stuff", the two have decided to continue in a different direction.

As for the now-private Pickled Heron, it welcomes inquiries from those seeking private event space rentals. Interested parties can get in touch by emailing TwoChefs@ThePickledHeron.com.
