Butcher Bar Opens Tonight in Rittenhouse, Take a Peek Inside

This place is all about the meat

Tonight, September 2, is Butcher Bar's opening night, as well as owner George Anni's first foray into the Rittenhouse neighborhood after years of success in Washington Square West. He's taken over the old Wajoe space at 2034 Chestnut Street and completely transformed it into a straight-up meat haven, serving up a menu full of homemade meatballs, sausages, and wood-grilled meats in a clean, subway-tiled dining room.

It's a bi-level space, too, which means a stylish mezzanine level with windows that open onto Chestnut Street bustling below. Meat hooks line the ceilings, the open kitchen is decorated with vintage cleavers, and there's exposed brick and reclaimed wood galore.

Take the tour here, and see it for yourself in person starting at 4 p.m. this evening.
