WASHWEST — Replacing Walnut Street falafel shop Maoz, is a vegan eatery by Fernando Peralta, who brought some great vegan product to the Main Line with his Vgë Cafe. The new shop (which will not be called Vgë Cafe) will feature healthy options i.e., salads, bowls, and sandwiches. []

UNIVERSITY CITY — A destination restaurant is planned for the new FMC Tower at 30th and Walnut Streets. The crew behind it? The team from Michelin-ranked Rebelle in New York City. [EPHL]

LOFT DISTRICT — "Premier nightclub" NOTO is close to opening in the Loft District at 1209 Vine Street. 24-year-old founder James De Berardine is installing a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a "massive" early 20th-century chandelier, and a 420 square foot LED wall hung above the stage. UNIVERSITY CITY — Fast-casual pizza chain Blaze Fire'd Up Pizza is opening a second location on Drexel University's campus. Expect the same deal as its 133 other locations: personal pizzas made-to-order in 180 seconds. [EPHL]
