Eight More Restaurants and Bars Announced This Month

A continually-updated list of places opening soon around the city

Today is the first day of Fall, so Eater is launching a brand new opening-soon list which will get updated throughout the season. Check back to the Summer 2016 list for a complete rundown of all the restaurants and bars opening around the city.

September 22

QUEEN VILLAGE — Manayunk's favorite craft beer and burger spot Lucky's Last Chance will be taking over what is now Kennett at 843 South Second Street to open a second location. Its famous peanut butter-bacon burger will, of course, make it to the new location. [Philly.com]

PHL AIRPORT— Geno's Steaks, the neon-bedazzled cheesesteak destination in South Philly, will open its first outpost in the Philadelphia International Airport between Terminals B and C. The menu will consist of 'steaks, roast porks and cheese fries. [Philly.com]

WASHWEST — Replacing Walnut Street falafel shop Maoz, is a vegan eatery by Fernando Peralta, who brought some great vegan product to the Main Line with his Vgë Cafe. The new shop (which will not be called Vgë Cafe) will feature healthy options i.e., salads, bowls, and sandwiches. [Philly.com]

UNIVERSITY CITY — A destination restaurant is planned for the new FMC Tower at 30th and Walnut Streets. The crew behind it? The team from Michelin-ranked Rebelle in New York City. [EPHL]

LOFT DISTRICT — "Premier nightclub" NOTO is close to opening in the Loft District at 1209 Vine Street. 24-year-old founder James De Berardine is installing a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a "massive" early 20th-century chandelier, and a 420 square foot LED wall hung above the stage. UNIVERSITY CITY — Fast-casual pizza chain Blaze Fire'd Up Pizza is opening a second location on Drexel University's campus. Expect the same deal as its 133 other locations: personal pizzas made-to-order in 180 seconds. [EPHL]

PENNSPORT — Valena's Simple Cafe will take over a former vacuum repair shop near the corner of Front Street and Snyder Avenue. Expect coffee, pastries, and prepared foods. [Passyunk Post]

PENNSPORT — Snyder Plaza is getting a new Japanese restaurant called Kyoto. Passyunk Post is guessing sushi, but only time will tell what Kyoto hopes to bring to Philly's growing crop of Japanese restaurants. [Passyunk Post]
