After a summer hiatus when things at the Kimmel Center are slow, Jose Garces's on-site restaurant Bar Volvér reopens Wednesday, September 7 with an enhanced bar menu that now includes full dinner service.
Previously, only charcuterie, cheese and small plates were available at the bar and in the surrounding lounge, while full 8 and 12-course meals were served in the more formal dining room (Volvér) for $95 or $150. But starting tomorrow, you can head to Bar Volvér for its new approachable comfort food-driven menu (below) collaborated upon between Garces and his chef de cuisine Dave Conn.
Reservations are now being taken for dinner and drinks at the bar on Open Table. Keep in mind, it's especially crowded for pre and post-theater dining when there's a show at the Kimmel Center.
Favorite snacks and small plates, such as the lamb burger with red onion marmalade ($9) and the lomo Ibérico ($8), are still on the bar menu.
A rotating selection of $8 cocktails and snacks will be on the menu at happy hour, Thursday-Sunday 4:30-6:30 p.m. and until 11pm on Wednesday. Bar Volvér is open Wednesday and Thursday 4:30-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4:30-11 p.m., and Sunday 4:30-9 p.m.
