Workhorse Brewing Company is heading to King of Prussia. The new brewery will open in the spring of 2018, complete with a tasting room and an event space, in a 62,000-square-foot facility at 250 King Manor Drive. It’s from Dan Hershberg of Philly Phaithful, with Nathan Olewine as brewmaster.
Olewine, who started his career at Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, is coming from Devils Backbone in central Virginia. The brewer spent five years at Devils Backbone, which is now owned by Anheuser-Busch. Hershberg’s Philly Phaithful is a clothing company known for its playful, Philly-centric designs sold in shops in and around the city. Think: T-shirts in Eagles’ green and white with a “Welcome to Wentzylvania” logo, or an image of Santa being pelted with snowballs (it happened once! Almost 50 years ago!).
All of Workhorse’s operations will be at the King of Prussia facility, including the manufacturing and warehousing, a tasting room the company is describing as family-friendly, and an event space.
The property is managed by Equivest. Avison Young and PRA Realty Advisors handled the transaction.
