Michael Schulson’s gorgeous Harp & Crown, a restaurant/bar/underground bowling alley (yes, bowling alley), is adding weekend brunch to its roster and getting rid of weekday lunch. Starting April 1, the Center City spot (1525 Sansom Street) will be serving a buffet-style brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch hours will end Friday, March 31, but starting that Monday, April 3, Harp & Crown will open at 4 p.m. for happy hour on weekdays, and continue into dinner service.
The new brunch includes a mix of savory and sweet options, like omelets, waffles, carved meat, salumi, pastries, and fruit, for $35 per person (not including tax and tip). For an extra $20, get a mimosa, Champagne, or bellini pairing. It will be offered upstairs only, not in the underground lair called Elbow Lane — which is probably for the best, especially if the brunch comes after a night out drinking.
