There’s a cellar raid going down at the Rittenhouse restaurant

This is like happy hour gone mad. A.Kitchen — named one of Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Wine Restaurants in America —is starting up a monthly 50-percent-off night, and the first one is tonight.

All regular-sized bottles from the restaurant’s collection of more than 400 will be half off. Here’s your chance to try the natural, sustainable, and minimally manipulated wines you might not have been sure about spending full price on. The bottles are usually $50 to $600. A.Kitchen introduced the Cellar Raid during Philly Wine Week and decided to bring it back as a regular event.

General manager Joey Campanella is pretty excited about the deal:

TONIGHT!!! The first of our new monthly Wednesday Cellar Raids. Every month on the 1st Wednesday, all regular bottles of wine will be 50% off in A.Kitchen from 5-10pm. So come plunder our Burgundies and Barolos. There is some amazing stuff on this list like old Rieslings, old Rioja Blanca, rare Canary Islands wine, ridiculous Champagne and more! Hope to see you tonight (and every 1st Wednesday!!) This is also a great opportunity to have some of our delicious food… think Dry Aged T-Bone for 2!

Here is a cheesy pic of me to get everyone ready for drinking great wine!

On Friday, Jason Kivelstadt and Alex Pomerantz from California’s Kivelstadt Cellars will be at A.Kitchen talking wine from 5 to 8 p.m., with $28 flights from their winery.
