— Criniti Ristorante Italiano on South Broad is closed, reports Philly.com. Owner Massimo Criniti told Michael Klein it was “time to move on.” The restaurant, which originally opened in 1985, had been at the 2611 S. Broad Street location since 2004.
— Klein also reports that Girasole, most recently in the Symphony House apartment building at Broad and Pine, is now closed. The owners are scouting new locations.
—Rittenhouse denizens awaiting the opening of a Sweet Charlie’s in their neighborhood might very soon have a different Thai hand-rolled ice cream option. Seventh Heaven Fresh Rolled Ice Cream is replacing a shoe store at 19th and Ludlow streets and looks very close to opening, reports Philly Chit Chat. The menu on Seventh Heaven’s website mentions a vegan ice cream option, as well as a few unusual mix-ins to go with the standards (fruit, pretzels, Oreos), like avocado and green tea powder. The hours are listed as noon to 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. on Sunday — but it’s not open yet.
— One more from Philly.com: Brunch spot Green Eggs Cafe is opening another location, on 18th Street.
