Chef Jezabel Careaga of Argentine eatery Jezabel’s is opening her second shop tomorrow — but this one won’t follow the usual restaurant format. Jezabel’s Studio at 208 S. 45th Street is a cafe, cooking demonstration studio, and home store rolled into one.
Jezabel’s Studio is compact, at 400 square feet, with a small sit-down section serving French press coffee, tea, alfajores (an Argentine shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche and rolled in coconut shavings), and the empanadas Careaga is already known for. The chef is also bringing her pinchos night to the new location. The Pop-up Bar de Pinchos takes place once a month at Jezabel’s in Fitler Square. It will follow the same monthly format at Jezabel’s Studio.
Careaga will use the chef’s counter at her new space for cooking demonstrations. Rounding out the offerings, kitchen accessories handmade in Argentina, like aprons and dish towels, will be sold, along with furniture Careaga made at local fabrication studio NextFab.
Jezabel’s Studio started testing the waters last week. It officially opens tomorrow and will be open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Take a look at the menu:
