Pistola’s Del Sur and Manatawny Still Works Craft Spirits Shop and Tasting Room, both in the works on East Passyunk, will make their Avenue debuts at the neighborhood’s 12th annual car show and street festival this Sunday, July 30. The newly opened Barcelona will also be participating in the fest, along with 20 other local eateries and a bunch of food trucks, including Mike’s BBQ. For those curious about what’s going on beyond the food: More than 140 classic, antique, custom, and muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles will line the street between Broad and Dickinson. Arts and crafts vendors will set up shop and bands will play all day. Now, back to what to eat.

Pistola’s Del Sur, which is going into the Palladino’s space at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave., will be slinging kobe beef tacos and chips and guac. Manatawny Still Works, coming to 1603 E. Passyunk Ave., will be on hand with $5 cocktails. The local distillery won’t be the only ones with a $5 deal. Head to tables marked with balloons for more $5 options, including Bing Bing Dim Dum (cheesesteak bao buns), P’unk Burger (vegan pulled portobello sliders or beef caprese sliders), and Marra’s (meatball sandwiches on Sarcone’s rolls). Barcelona hasn’t revealed which of its Spanish tapas will be on offer just yet.

  • Noord: Bitterballen
  • Townsend: Porchetta sandwich
  • Paradiso: Arancini
  • Birra: Cheese pizza
  • Plenty Cafe: Spanish meatball sandwich

There will also be beer, wine, and cocktails. The festivities are on for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it’s free to get in. For those not planning to try all the cocktails, discounted parking ($13 for 12 hours) will be available off East Passyunk at the Parkway at Constitution Health Plaza (1485 McKean, between Broad and 15th streets).
