Pistola’s Del Sur, from the guys behind Jose Pistola’s in Center City and Sancho Pistola’s in Fishtown, is just about ready to open on East Passyunk Avenue. It’s going into the former Palladino’s space at the end (or, beginning) of the South Philly restaurant strip, at 1934 E. Passyunk Avenue. Casey Parker, Joe Gunn, and chef Adan Trinidad have already found success with their loud, lively Mexican bar concept at the two other Pistola’s locations and Parker tells Eater the third will have a similar appeal.
Going off Jose Pistola’s and Sancho Pistola’s, the new bar will likely have a strong draft list, an interesting mix of American and imported bottles and cans, and lots of tequilas to go with some really good, comfortably inauthentic tacos. Both also serve brunch.
The trio gave fans a small peek at the Pistola’s Del Sur menu during the East Passyunk car show and street festival at the end of July. Get ready for the full reveal, because according to a Pistola’s Del Sur post on Instagram, the opening is just “days away”:
For those who can’t wait, head to Jose Pistola’s now for a Dallas Sucks draft from Easton-based Weyerbacher Brewing.
