This year holiday cheer comes in liquid form when Miracle, a Christmas-themed bar, pops up at Top Chef Nicholas Elmi’s ITV on East Passyunk Avenue with seasonal cocktails, holiday tunes, and kitschy décor. It runs from Friday, November 24, to Saturday, December 23.
Now in 50 cities around the world, the New York-based pop-up started in 2014 when Greg Boehm, listening to advice from his mother, paused construction on his bar Mace to decorate it for Christmas and serve wintery cocktails in the then-unfinished space. Miracle was a hit and has expanded to new cities every year since.
Miracle’s menu includes drinks like the Bad Santa (mulled red wine, tawny port, orange liqueur, spices, and golden raisins, served hot) and the Snowball Old Fashioned (gingerbread bourbon, wormwood bitters, and lemon zest), with the cocktails poured into themed glassware. For those who’ve always wanted their very own Santa’s head mug to drink from, the vessels are also for sale, with 10 percent of proceeds pledged to Action Against Hunger.
