Back in October, Fond on East Passyunk Avenue closed for a couple of weeks to undergo a light makeover. And now chefs/owners/married couple Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki are making another change, adding brunch to the restaurant (one of Eater Philly’s essential 38) for the first time since it opened in 2009.
Don’t look for the chicken liver mousse, grilled duck hearts, or scallops the French corner spot is known for at night. Styer and Prawlucki are fully embracing breakfast foods during their new daytime service. Expect a range of omelets, including one with Canadian bacon, cheddar, and spinach, croissant sandwiches, short rib hash, and a smoked salmon platter. Pastry chef Prawlucki is contributing the sweets, like scones and cinnamon buns.
If that’s not enough to draw the crowds, there’s also an endless bloody mary bar, mimosas, and raw bar selections.
The brunch at Fond will be a Sunday-only affair, kicking off January 14. It’s on for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday dinner starts at 5 p.m. Check out the full menu:
