Avram Hornik, the longtime Philly bar owner behind Morgan’s Pier, Harper’s Garden, and Parks on Tap, is now working on Craft Hall, a food and drink destination taking over the former home of Yards Brewing Co., which relocated last year. Craft Hall will combine a few tenants in one space at 901 N. Delaware Avenue, and first up is Mainstay Independent, a brewery and tasting room opening November 1.

Mainstay is run by Brian O’Reilly, coming from Pottstown’s Sly Fox Brewing Company, and Andrew Foss of St. Benjamin’s Brewing in Kensington. Joining them to provide a short food menu is chef Adam Lazarick, culinary director for Hornick’s FCM Hospitality, and Parks on Tap chef Justin Koenig.

To start, the tasting room’s hours are Wednesday to Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

The rest of Craft Hall should fall into place in February 2019. Look for Lost Bread from star baker Alex Bois and City Creek BBQ to be part of the lineup.
