Chris Painter, chef-partner at Fishtown’s Wm. Mulherin’s Sons, is no longer at the restaurant following sexual harassment allegations from four former employees, Philadelphia magazine reports. Painter, along with Wm Mulherin’s general manager and others, had been suspended starting two weeks ago, when the magazine first reported on the allegations.
Partners Randall Cook and David Grasso originally said they were bringing in an outside expert to investigate the situation. On March 15, they released a statement to Philly Mag saying they “parted ways with the individuals related to the allegations previously reported.”
Before Wm. Mulherin’s Sons, Painter spent several years working at Stephen Starr’s restaurants. Together they opened Il Pittore in Rittenhouse in 2011. The restaurant closed in early 2016 when Painter left to team up with Cook and Grasso.
