It’s the fourth location for Waterfront Gourmet

Waterfront Gourmet Café & Deli is heading to Center City, to the ground floor of the Residences at The Ritz-Carlton across from City Hall. The sandwich shop will open in what was salad purveyor Freshii. Coffee shop La Colombe is next door. Look for Waterfront Gourmet (1414 S. Penn Square) to start stuffing picante tofu burritos and grilling chicken pesto paninis this summer.

This is the fourth outpost for the eatery, which also has locations at Penn’s Landing, in the Left Bank building in University City, and at CHOP. Owner Hanna Kogan is originally from Bali, Indonesia.

Kogan’s newest Waterfront Gourmet follows the same format as the others, with a menu of breakfast items (including bagels), sandwiches, hoagies, panini, salads, and Illy coffee. Sandwiches include the Asian Decker with teriyaki chicken and the Jewish Stack with corned beef, roast beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw on rye. There are several vegetarian options, like the sandwich with hummus, roasted peppers, and feta and the veggie burger with pepper jack cheese and avocado. In the salad category, the Mexican Chop with corn, pinto beans, avocado, and tortilla chips and the Mediterranean with hummus and pita stand out.

The shop is about 1,300 square feet. It will also offer delivery.
