Queen Village has a new destination for chocolates, coffee, and pastries, with Aurora Grace opening up starting this week.
Per Philly Mag, it’s on Fifth and South, and it did open partially over the holidays, regular hours begin on Thursday (January 3)
It comes from the eminently talented pastry chef Aurora Wold, who has experience at Michelin-starred New York restaurants such as 11 Madison Park, the Musket Room, and Jean Georges. Upon moving to Philadelphia, Wold started her namesake company with a focus on painted chocolates, but has not had a brick-and-mortar location open to the public until now.
On offer will be a veritable myriad of those painted treats in different flavors, but it’s not strictly a chocolaterie: other sweets like macarons, cookies, pies, and a house hot chocolate are being sold from the S 5th premises, as well as coffee from Rival Bros.
Aurora Grace Chocolates is open at 517 S 5th Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday, starting January 3. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
