The doors are finally open at the long-in-the-works third location of Loco Pez. The Graduate Hospital outpost of the LA-style taqueria and bar, which has a presence in Fishtown and West Philly, is serving tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and a whole lot of tequila at the corner of 20th and Bainbridge.

Eater noted the second floor has been constructed at 700 S. 20th Street back in March 2018, adding a level to what was previously Robert’s Twi-Lite Lounge. But even that was already a couple years after Joe Beckham started transforming the space into Loco Pez.

In the meantime, he opened the West Philly location, at 47th and Baltimore, to go with the original in Fishtown, which has been serving the crowds since 2011. Inquirer.com first reported on the debut this week of the newest Loco Pez.

The restaurant’s menu is more Southern California than south of the border. Look for generously topped nachos, a hot sauce-laden “volcano burrito,” and bacon-wrapped hot dogs. Al pastor, carne asada, pollo tinga, shrimp, seitan and spinach, and soy chorizo are options to fill tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and enchiladas. To drink, there’s Mexican Coke, Jarritos, a long list of beers and tequilas, and cocktails making use of those tequilas, like the one with pineapple-infused tequila, guava, and lime juice.

All three locations are cash only.
