Mexican restaurant Condesa, from the restaurant group behind Fishtown hot spots Suraya and Pizzeria Beddia, expands its hours as of Tuesday, December 10, with lunch service and more time for margaritas. It’s one of three new eateries from the same group at the Pod Philly hotel on 19th and Ludlow in Center City, along with coffee shop El Cafe and rooftop bar El Techo.
Previously a dinner-only spot, Condesa, which opened early October, is now serving weekday lunch, Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bar hours are extended too: Starting today it’s open from 11:30 a.m. until “late” during the week. (The bar is open from 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday).
Condesa’s lunchtime menu includes some items also available in the evening, plus chicken soup, a seafood cocktail, grilled fish empanadas, sopes, egg and hoja santa tacos, and plates of shrimp, chuleta en adobo, skirt steak, or hen of the woods mushrooms served with guac, charred onions, nopales, and tortillas.
