The two-in-one W Philadelphia and Element Philadelphia hotel rising at 15th and Chestnut will include the restaurant Dolce Italian, which has its original location in Miami Beach and a spinoff in Atlantic City. Dolce is part of LDV Hospitality, the same group that owns Scarpetta, an upscale Italian restaurant in The Rittenhouse hotel directly on Rittenhouse Square.

The new 51-story hotel tower is unusual for the Marriott hotel group in that it includes both the W and Element brands, each with its own lobby and amenities. The W (at 1439 Chestnut Street) will have about 290 rooms, while Element (1441 Chestnut Street) holds 460.

Dolce is setting up in the W. It will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with house-made pastas, Neapolitan-style pizzas, and other Italian dishes, like veal Milanese.

LDV’s first Dolce Italian is in Miami’s South Beach. A seafood-focused version of the restaurant named Dolce Mare is in Atlantic City’s Ocean Resort (previously Revel, and still in the midst of instability).

But don’t start making dinner plans just yet — the Philly hotels aren’t slated to open until January 2020. Though it doesn’t feel too premature to start getting excited about this poolside Wet Deck bar:

As for Scarpetta, along with the Rittenhouse location, which looks out over the park from a window-lined wall, the restaurant has a presence in New York City, the Hamptons, Rhode Island, Miami, and Las Vegas.
