Milkshakes inspired by Girl Scout Cookies are on the menu at P’unk Burger, the family-friendly burger spot at 1832 East Passyunk Avenue. They’re available now through March 31. On weekends in March, look for Girl Scouts selling cookies in front of the restaurant.
Owner Marlo Dilks, who also has the Slice pizza chain, says while she was never a Girl Scout herself, she is the mother of six daughters and wanted to promote an organization that supports girls. She’s also donating all quarters from P’unk Burger’s arcade games — Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and the like — to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania this month.
The four Girl Scout Cookie shakes on offer include a toasted coconut and sea salt caramel concoction with vanilla ice cream, chocolate drizzle, toasted coconut, caramel, sea salt, and Caramel deLites cookie pieces; mint cookie with vanilla ice cream, mint leaves, crushed Thin Mint cookies, and chocolate drizzle; chocolate peanut butter and jelly with peanut butter ice cream, Nutella, grape jelly, and crushed Peanut Butter Patties, and the Campfire with vanilla ice cream, Nutella, marshmallow, graham crackers, and S’mores cookies.
Each goes for $8 and can be made with whole milk, almond milk, or soy milk. Another option: Bring along something to spike it with. P’unk Burger doesn’t serve alcohol, but Dilks recommends dark spiced rum for the toasted coconut and sea salt caramel shake or Irish whiskey for the mint cookie.
