Waterfront Favorite Morgan’s Pier Will Kick Off its Season in Mid-April

There will be new beers and pizzas this year

Morgan’s Pier, the widely-acclaimed outdoor resto-bar along the Delaware River, is officially opening for the 2019 summer season on April 18, the resto-bar announced last Friday.

The venue, known for delivering sublime waterfront views, will open its doors officially at 4 p.m. that Thursday, ringing in the summer with slight changes to its food and drink menus.

Among them is the introduction of a new beer to the lineup. This season, the bar will be serving ‘Pier Beer,’ a new drink from Brian O’Reilly, Brewmaster at Mainstay Independent Brewing Company, previously of Sly Fox.

Chef Adam Lazarick, who took the reigns in the kitchen as Chef-in-Residence at Morgan’s Pier last year, will be spearheading the food again this year. Only this time around, he’s partnering with acclaimed Lost Bread Co. baker Alex Bois, who will be supplying dough for “Fatbread” pizzas and fresh rolls for the restaurant’s sandwiches.

The restaurant announced in a statement to the press that it will be discontinuing its Chef-in-Residence program — which allowed local chefs to work in the kitchen on a guest-basis throughout the summer — to give Lazarick time and space to re-develop the restaurant’s menu. What that new menu will look like, we don’t yet know, but can only assume it will be good.

As with previous years, Morgan’s Pier will also be holding regular entertainment and social events, including karaoke, salsa nights, and monthly mini-beer fests with local craft beer tastings.

STATUS: Morgan’s Pier will open for the season on Thursday, April 18 at 4 p.m.. It will be open regularly over the summer from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
