Tyler Akin Set Up a Summery Seafood Pop-Up Inside Stock Rittenhouse

It’s one of two new options for lobster rolls in Philly

Chef Tyler Akin, best known for Stock, his restaurant that pulls from a variety of Southeast Asian cuisines, is setting up a “ghost kitchen” at Stock’s Rittenhouse location to sell seafood under the name Anchor Light. It opens Wednesday, July 1, with pickup and delivery, and lasts until the end of summer.

The menu is as summery as it gets: lobster rolls, hot dogs on Martin’s potato rolls, crinkle-cut fries with Old Bay, corn salad with grilled peach. The lobster rolls, each $17.50, are listed as Connecticut-style (clarified butter), Maine-style (Hellman’s mayonnaise) or New England-style (mayo, celery, chives, celery salt).

There’s also a shrimp roll, a Maryland crab roll, a fried chicken sandwich, and an Impossible Burger with “vegan special sauce.”

Stock Rittenhouse will still be selling its regular menu for pickup and delivery. (The Fishtown location of Stock is currently closed during the pandemic, as is Akin’s Res Ipsa Cafe.)

In Bella Vista, more lobster rolls can be found at Alex Yoon’s Little Fish. The seafood-focused BYOB reopened in June modeled after a seaside raw bar with items available for taking home or eating while standing at one of a few high tables set up outside. Along with the lobster roll, the menu includes oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, scallop toast, a smoked salmon omelet served on fluffy challah, and mul naengmyun — yellowfin tuna on top of udon in a chilled beef broth with a jammy egg, pickled cucumbers, Asian pear, and nori.
