Philly Restaurants Band Together to Support Abortion Funds

On Saturday, July 2, over two dozen Philly bars and restaurants will raise money for the National Network of Abortion Funds

Following the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade at the end of June, restaurants and bars in Philadelphia have banded together to raise money for people seeking abortions now that access has been severely limited or completely banned in over a dozen states. On Saturday, July 2, participating Philly food establishments will donate a percentage of their earnings to the National Network of Abortion Funds, a network that distributes donations to more than 90 existing grassroots abortion funds.

Organized by Amanda Shulman of Her Place Supper Club, the fundraiser includes bars, restaurants, and a few places donating their products to dinner at Her Place. At Her Place in particular, if you manage to score a coveted reservation for the 8:30 p.m. seating, 100 percent of the proceeds from the $100 prix-fixe meal will be donated to abortion funds.

Going out to eat this weekend and want to support peoples’ rights to free and safe abortions? The full list of participants and what to order when you go out is here:
