In the world of takeout, Chinese food is a go-to for many. Hungry Philadelphians craving piping hot soup dumplings, spicy peppercorn-packed stir-fries, and crispy-skin duck can find recommendable options throughout the city.

In the interest of including multiple neighborhoods, this list does not include every must-try Chinatown restaurant — for more in Chinatown, head here.

As always, it’s best to order takeout or delivery directly from a restaurant, if possible. If that’s not an option, find many of these restaurants on Caviar/Doordash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub.

A number of Philadelphia restaurants have resumed dine-in service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns. For updated information on coronavirus cases locally, visit the City of Philadelphia website. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with sidewalk and patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
