It wasn’t long ago that outdoor dining was a seasonal luxury, reserved for the warmer months when diners could take to the city’s coveted, precious sidewalk seating. After the pandemic disrupted indoor dining availability, significant sums have been spent on tents, heaters, and partitions to encourage guests to take their dining experience out of traditional confines, even when the weather was iffy.

Warmer months are — thankfully — here. Along with Philly restaurants already known for their sidewalk seating, like Parc on Rittenhouse Square, many more restaurants have added sidewalk seats, so dining outside is an option at more spots than ever before. This map highlights the outdoor dining options that have thrived through the winter months and those that are welcoming diners and drinkers for a sunnier season.
